Bolabet, one of the best betting sites in Zambia, has had a particularly good year in 2021. Wanting to give back, the company has already donated over K50,000 to charities. Many charities received donations at a recent charity sports event hosted by Bolabet. They include YASA Queens, PlayFoward Zambia, Chibolya Media Farm, and Lusaka South Development Initiative.
The general manager of Bolabet Zambia, Justin Palmer, has expressed his wish for the company to continue being involved in charity. He also wants to continue investing in the country’s sport. In particular, he hopes that Bolabet will soon be able to fund an annual cup competition in Zambian football.
Palmer said that the possibility of Bolabet partnering with FAZ and launching a new cup competition is very likely. However, he has been warned of possible complications and hurdles. Complications arise due to schedules and calendars in the super league. International breaks also pose an issue. So does COVID-19 as regulations keep changing.
Supporting Zambian Teams
In the meantime, apart from charity, Bolabet aims to continue sponsoring sports teams in Zambia. Currently, they are the sponsors of many football clubs. These include the City of Lusaka, Kabwe Warriors, Kanshanshi Dynamos, and Mufulira Wanderers.
The Kanshanshi Dynamos are the latest team, recently signing a three-year partnership with Bolabet. The deal will include US $100,000, around K1.6 million, being pumped into the team over the next three seasons. Bolabet is particularly excited about the team’s prospects. Palmer attended a recent event to consolidate their partnership, where he spoke about the importance of clubs.
He said that football in Zambia is vital. He applauded the partnership as it created a connection. This connection was between Bolabet, the fans, and the country as a whole. He added that it’s easy to forget that in football, the clubs are the most important part of the game.
Backing Women in Sport
Bolabet is also a big supporter and sponsor of woman’s football in Zambia. Elizabeth Mtonga, the manager of YASA Queens Academy, expressed gratitude for Bolabet’s donation. And for the support given to their women’s football team for 2022.
Mtonga said that the donation will help them hugely. They are a non-governmental organization so extra support is very welcome. The girls only get one meal a day, so they can now improve on this. Despite the hardship, they took part in the national league, which is the first-ever women’s league. Not only did they take part, but they also placed 6th. She went on to say that the 20221 season was very difficult. They had to source their own funds. But they learn a lot and want to do better this season.
Palmer has often expressed his belief in the growing popularity of women’s football, and the need to support it. He says that as a brand, they look at where to invest. They want to put their money where it brings excitement. In Zambia, this is the women’s league.
