Nigerian betting platform BETBABA has launched its operations and called upon the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) to implement stringent rules that discourage gambling addiction among Nigerians. The launch event took place at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Lagos.
BETBABA emphasized the importance of upholding the legal age for betting, which is 18 years old, and urged that this standard should not be compromised. The firm is committed to responsible gaming practices and aims to prioritize customer well-being alongside profitability.
Francis Ifie, the Managing Director of BETBABA, highlighted their dedication to promoting responsible gaming and gambling on their platform. He mentioned that they have implemented features to encourage self-exclusion, allowing users who feel they are becoming addicted to exclude themselves or set limitations on their betting activities. Furthermore, the platform actively monitors betting patterns and sends notifications to users displaying signs of addiction.
“If we see any betting pattern that indicates someone is addicted, we send them notices to tell them that they are overbetting and put some limitations,” Ifie stated.
The firm also emphasized that gambling addiction has caused significant problems for many individuals. Therefore, they believe it is crucial for the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), to introduce and enforce strict regulations that discourage addiction while fostering responsible gambling practices.
Discussing the company’s offerings, Ifie mentioned a unique user journey that begins when customers register on their site. He stated that BETBABA provides various features, including bonuses, such as birthday bonuses, setting them apart from other platforms. The platform offers three main product categories sports, virtual sports, and e-sports.
BETBABA’s long-term goal is to secure a significant market share as one of the top betting sites in Nigeria and explore opportunities in other African countries.
“We are far different from other platforms, and we are coming out with a bang,” Ifie concluded.
As the Nigerian betting industry continues to grow, responsible gambling initiatives like those introduced by BETBABA play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of users while fostering a sustainable and ethical gambling environment.
