Italian operator Sisal Italia is expanding its reach in the international gambling market with a recent license secured in Morocco. Sisal has been named the official sportsbook under an eight-year license that can be renewed for an additional two years. The operator’s success in the Moroccan market comes after Flutter Entertainment acquired it.
A Country With a Strong Growth Trajectory
Sisal’s Moroccan holding company, Sisal Jeux Maroc, is headed by CEO Marco Caccavale, who expressed his satisfaction with the deal. Caccavale said the Moroccan contract recognises his team’s hard work and that he is already exploring the potential of the country’s strong growth trajectory.
The recent win is not the only international license that Sisal has secured. The operator has also been awarded a contract in Tunisia, allowing it to control local online sports betting. Sisal already holds international licenses in Spain and Turkey, making it a formidable player in the global gambling market.
Now Part of Flutter Entertainment
Flutter Entertainment acquired Sisal in 2022 in a $2.2 billion deal, including SuperEnalotto and MatchPoint. As part of Flutter, Sisal’s offering has been enhanced. Caccavale noted that the four recent international licenses prove the company is doing well. He concluded that Sisal will remain highly competitive in the global gambling market.
